Volunteers are the reason our pantries function. We need volunteers every Tuesday to assist with pantry tasks. Volunteers will help with: -packing bags -handing out food to consumers -registering new clients -checking people in -breaking down boxes -cleaning up at close -other tasks as assigned Volunteers can be any age as long as parents feel it is appropriate.

Volunteers in the local community are welcome to donate food items to the United Way of Pioneer Valley. Our pantry volunteers will sort and get the items directly to the consumers who utilize the pantry. Items that are useful are nonperishable items, can openers plus items such as oil, salt, pepper and ketchup. Food donations must be dropped off to the United Way of Pioneer Valley on Fridays.

Volunteers can organize their own unique fund raiser to help UWPV respond to the threats to SNAP benefits. Your donation will go directly into purchasing food for our pantry and micro pantries to get food into hands now. You can go directly to our page and donate, or create a fundraiser and donate the proceeds to the United Way of Pioneer Valley. We are seeking an experienced professional in small business development to volunteer as a guest speaker for a special Thrive Program workshop series at Springfield Technical Community College (STCC).Responsibilities:Prepare and deliver a 60â??75 minute presentation on small business development, tailored for students and community members interested in entrepreneurship.Cover key topics such as: steps to start a small business, creating a basic business plan, common pitfalls to avoid, financial considerations, and available resources for new business owners.Engage participants through examples, Q&A, and practical advice.Collaborate with United Way staff to ensure the content is accessible and actionable for attendees.

Collect or purchase mini toothpaste, wet wipes, mouth wash, tooth brushes, combs, soap. Put one of each item into a plastic bags and deliver all the kits to our pantry to be handed out to consumers!

Want to give to an organization but maybe do not have the time or are not the right age to volunteer with them yet? A great way to utilize your skills and still make a contribution is to host a fundraiser of your choice and donate to an agency! You and some friends could host a bake sale, carwash or get donations from your school or place of work. Then give that donation to an agency so that they can use it for services to the public! Get creative! No gift is too small!
