Let’s Make Volunteerism a New Family Tradition
Join United Way of Pioneer Valley for our very first Community Workshop — a hands-on volunteer event designed for families to give back together. All ages are welcome!
At this heartwarming community gathering, families will roll up their sleeves to create kits for youth this holiday season. Kits will be distributed to local organizations and youth programs who have specifically asked UWPV to support youth in their programs/services.
What can you make?
-Arts and craft kits (Express creativity with kits that include items like beads, gimp, paint, clay)
-Activity kits (entertaining minds with Lego builds, games and brain teasers)
-Buddy Backpacks (backpacks with nutritious food for students to bring home during school vacation when school breakfast and lunch is unavailable.)
Help UWPV meet our goal is 600 kits, 200 of each kind of kit!
UWPV will supply ALL the items for the kits
ONE REGISTRATION PER FAMILY PLEASE: one registration means you are signing up to build 10 kits.
*the event will run three hours from 3-6pm, however, families can show up at any time during those three hours to build their kits. (For reference: a family of four can build 10 kits in about 30 minutes)
Contact Alexandra Maggio at amaggio@uwpv.org for questions.
This event is free to attend, with a suggested donation of $20 per family to help us continue supporting the programs that strengthen our community all year long.
Because when families come together to volunteer, Community Starts Here.
